The greatest apartment on the coolest street in Rotterdam! This fully furnished, 100m2 apartment has a very large, sunny living room (previously 2 rooms) with windows that span the full width of the room and a view of the coolest street in Rotterdam (maybe even in the Netherlands): the Witte de Withstraat.
The apartment was fully renovated a few years ago. New windows (double glazing) were installed in the front and back, and both the bathroom and the (open) kitchen were completely renovated. The bedroom and the guest room (which can also be used as an office or walk-in closet!) are at the (very quiet) back of the apartment. The bathroom is well lit (thanks to a huge opaque glass window), and has a walk-in shower and a separate bath. The apartment has wooden floors throughout. The floors in the bathroom, in the (separate) WC, and in the laundry room are covered in natural stone. The laundry room and the hallway offer plenty of storage room. The apartment has a modern, tasteful interior and has been furnished with all modern conveniences. Like to cook? The open kitchen offers a large 6-burner Smeg stove. Music lovers can stream music throughout the entire apartment using the Marley system.
The Witte de Withstraat is a very lively street in the city center, with cultural institutions, restaurants, galleries, cool shops, and bars. De Witte Aap Cafe was voted The World’s Best Bar by Lonely Planet in 2009. The newly built King Kong hostel and the NRC cafe/restaurant are a great asset to the street. And you can get the best hamburger in the Netherlands across the street at Ter Marsch & Co.
The apartment is right in the middle, across from a former school building, which is now a museum/gallery space for modern art (Tent/Witte de With).
The street is on the so-called Art Axis (Kunst-as) between the museums on the Leuvehaven and the Museum Park (Boijmans Van Beuningen, Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Natural History Museum, and the Kunsthal). The park is a short walk from the apartment. Festivals and markets are held here all year round (including the Parade, Open Air Cinema, Swan Market, Museum Night, etc.).
New in town? There's no better place from which to discover Rotterdam than from Witte de Withstraat. A must see.
The name Stadsdriehoek, or 'City Triangle', refers to the original triangular shape of historic Rotterdam. This modern, lively heart of the city is popular with expats for good reason: museums, shops, restaurants and some of the most interesting contemporary architecture in the country can be found in plenitude. The city's main business district, centred around the World Trade Center, is located here, and public transport is within easy walking distance. The country's largest market is held every Saturday and Tuesday here in the city centre.
We look forward to hearing from you.
