Moving to Amsterdam with kids and considering school options? Many families from abroad opt to send their kids to an international school, particularly expats coming to the country for a limited time. There is a wide range of choice in the area and the international curricula makes transitioning in and out of the school easier.

Primary education:

English language schools

Amsterdam International Community School (AICS)

The AICS offers the International Primary Curriculum for students 4-11 years old, the IB Middle Year Programme for 11-16 year olds, and the IB International Baccalaureate Diploma for students 16-19 years old.

The AICS has a range of international and Dutch students, with English as the primary language of instruction. The school is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Old South popular with expats, close to the World Trade Centre. AICS shares the facilities with a day care centre for kids under 4 years old.
